We flew out of Romania on the 16th of April and headed over to London to make a connecting flight to Houston TX and then Provo Utah. Well, it turned out that our flight to London and our flight from London were too close to each other...and we had to go through customs, and the London Heathrow Airport is huge-o, and our flight to London was delayed(there wasn't an open international dock for the plane when we got to London and so we had to get off the plane out the back door and take a bus to customs...kinda cool)...so we missed our flight. I was really sad at first because after planning to be home on the 16th for 3 1/2 months and then finding out that I would not be home that day was like...I can't think of a good comparison...but you get the picture. :)
Well, it took a while, but then we decided that we were stuck in London for the day...wait a minute, Stuck in London?...Yeah buddy! So we decided to go and see the city!
We rode the underground tube, got a hotel, saw St. Paul's Cathedral, Shakespeare's Globe, London's Bridge (is falling down), the London Eye, Big Ben, Westminster Abbey, Buckingham Palace, awesome sand sculptures, a double decker bus, a red telephone booth, some awesome wooden rocking things, a sweet skate park, ate some roasted nuts, and even tried fish and chips! :)
What started out as not the best morning turned into (to quote Liz) "A delightful Inconvenience". :) It was a great day!!!!! A wonderful way to finish my European adventures! :)
